I Believe Bibi Will Be Back!Reader comment on item: Bibi, Thank You for Your Service Submitted by David Ryan (United States), Jun 21, 2021 at 03:07 Principled opposition? Just look at that motley crew and tell me what principle it has but hate for Bibi? That hate has 3 main sources: Hate for Israel and Jews by the Arab partners, hate for capitalism by the leftist partners, and personal ambitions on the right by those who can't wait for Bibi to die because he is a better leader for Israel than any of them are and none of them deserved the Prime Ministership as long as Bibi was willing and available. And now none of them ever will deserve leadership. The accumulation of legal challenges to Bibi are clearly without merit and just a tactic to dislodge Bibi. Bibi should no more give in to this battle than the ones he has engaged in against Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Syria and Lebanon, and against Iranian terrorism and its ambition to have nuclear weapons for Jewish genocide and global extortion (which Europeans, American Democrats and Israeli Arabs are fine with). Is the new government "dangerous left-wing" as Bibi warned? "Dangerous" and "left-wing" are redundant. If it is only half right, it is justified and not worth nit-picking whether it is both. Bibi stood on a rock of support inscribed "Israel First" and as an American who believes in the modern version of "America First" (not the 1930s Nazi misappropriation of the slogan), I respect that. Despite everything, Bibi remains on that rock even as others have chipped away and undermined to destabilize that rock. But the coalition against Bibi stands on a pile of chips from Bibi's rock, dirt dug up from under it, and ostraca inscribed with slogans like "I'm to the right of Netanyahu", "I wanted to be PM but Netanyahu wouldn't let me", "Netanyahu is a crook", "Netanyahu is blocking socialism" and "First, Netanyahu, and then the rest of the Jews". The first major crisis that comes along and the shifting of the rabble on that rubble will send that sand all crashing down. Can you even imagine the Arab party supporting "Right of Netanyahu" Bennett in a full-scale war with Hezbollah or Iran? No, they are only there to bring down the government at the right moment. And then, if not sooner, Bibi will be back because he remains the only person in Israel worthy of the job!
