One Year Later (Since 2020 June)Reader comment on item: Islamism in Disarray Submitted by Robert (United States), Jul 8, 2021 at 13:49 I'm dismayed. For over a year now this post has not observed any new decline in Political Islam (Islamism). But why? So I'll make an observation on Saudi Arabia under MbS. He has, slowly, restrained his compatriots who rule his country's Wahhabi Islam. True, this is not really Political Islam - but tell that to the Women of Saudi Arabia who recently got their right to Drive a Car with a License. Also, the Morality Police are now prohibited from chasing Saudi women whose hemline is insufficiently close to the heel of their shoe. So is Wahhabi (and Salafi) Islam also in decline? And is this not due to the Modernity of their Saudi ruling Prince?

And MbS is part of that process. Reader comments (56) on this item
