Strategy vs. Tactics - Israel in 25Years or more.Reader comment on item: Who Won, Israel or Hamas? Submitted by Robert (United States), Dec 19, 2021 at 11:05 I think you correctly state that assessing this latest war or skirmish will take years. But I do not agree with you that the assessment involves Hamas initiating another war or skirmish. A more global look involves the notion of the role of useful idiots in any strategic environment. In the most important Battlefield Territories - Gaza and the West Bank - we have the military and political forces of Hamas and the Palestinian Authority (PA). The former wishes the destruction of Israel which most of the world rejects, with the notable exception of Iran, while Abbas wants the 1967 Oslo policy of a 2 state solution with East Jerusalem as Palestine's (state) Capitol. Neither choice is good for Israel strategic interests. However, as long as Hamas exists, and the Palestinians are accordingly divided, there is no possibility to force Israel to accept the lesser of these 2 evils. I should remind everyone here of the Prophetic announcement of Abba Eban" "The Palestinians never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity." It appears the Providence is here at work on the side of Israel. Among the Palestinian masses, it appears that Hamas is winning against the aging Abbas's PA. And it appears that the PA will probably not survive very long either before or after Abbas. So the Question is not whether Israel or Hamas has won. The Question is whether the Palestinians or Israelis have won. And here I think the world now sees that their choice is between Israel or the Muslim Brotherhood of Hamas. We know where Iran, Turkey, and maybe Qatar stand. But most of the world now is beginning to reject, partly out of fatigue, but also because there Millions of other Muslim Refugees who now far outnumber the "spoiled" Palestinian, and now must deal with the Muslims of China, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Sudan, Ethiopia, Egypt, Turkey, Yemen, France, Britain, Eastern Europe, etc. In other words, the Muslim Question of the world is no longer focus on the Israelis and Palestinians. And Hamas now is at "WAR" with the Whole World, except for Shia Iran, and Muslim Brotherhood Turkey. Isn't this wonderful for Israel? Thank you very much Hamas (and POPULAR FRONT FOR THE LIBERATION OF PALESTINE). PS: The latest "11-days war" is merely a minor battle, not even a war. And Hamas replacing Abbas is a Strategic Advantage for Israel on the International Diplomatic Front especially among Arab functioning states.
