Social Impositions in Subjective Societal SettingsReader comment on item: "We Hope You Will Wear Your Hijab to School" Submitted by M Tovey (United States), Feb 16, 2022 at 12:33 For what little it might be worth (or the subjectivity of worthless opinions that have little moral effects), from an American perspective, India's history leaves little room for speculation of how a free society may decide if one sector has an ability of self determination versus another which has self imposed restrictions in accomodating social practices from sources external to the indigenous cultural roots. Did English imperialism corrupt Indian society enough that an objective determination is out of the question: or does the situation have enough distance from the historical animus that freedom of choice can be adopted and if one desires to adhere to that practice, they can have the freedom to do so?
