jpost op-ed on NYT minimizing Jewish claim to Temple Mount

In a similar vein to Prashant's criticism, this op-ed in the Jerusalem Post takes the NYT to task for minimizing the Jewish claim to its holiest site, the Temple Mount, in a rather tawdry effort to minimize the gravity of the long-standing Muslim claim to exclusive control over it. Let's not forget that Jews were forbidden access to the site for the 19 years Jordan controlled it, until it was liberated by Israel in the '67 War. Even now, Muslims routinely attack Jewish worshippers there and riot over slanderous rumors of Jewish plots to take it over - clearly a case of psychological projection. Here's the article:

Don't get too upset, though. Most journalists tend to be competent writers with only a shallow understanding of the topics they cover, although some are dishonest leftist ideologues. One consequence is that they fall prey to the mirror image fallacy in an effort to be even-handed, or just plain lie.
