"Conspiracy Theories" Never DieReader comment on item: Did a Conspiracy Theory Just Collapse? Submitted by Robert (United States), Oct 1, 2022 at 12:30 Dear Dr. Daniel Pipes, You of all people really know that. You wrote extensively on this subject. It appears to me that such theories are absorbed by individuals with a (1) "paranoid personally" and related psychological deceases (but I'm not a professional psychologist to elaborate further on this phenomena, and (2) a significantly smaller minority which is simply uninformed. The real reason that this has become a worrying phenomena is that (1) the Web\Internet (as the Printing Press has done much earlier, but less effectively), (2) those who control the "traffic' on this technology are in Private Hands, and not the Government - in the case of the USA of course. However, this is a Utility, just like Electricity and the Telephone were earlier. Here we have the problem of another Contradiction evolving into a quest for a Synthesis (Hegel/Marx). Putting it in your terminology, there is a need for a Paradigm Shift ("Structure of Scientific Revolutions" by Kuhn). Relatedly, how about using Cancel-Culture's tool(s) against it/them?
