Submitted by Prashant (United States), Aug 23, 2022 at 22:56 Dear Dr Pipes, Reader Dave bases his arguments on the theories about where Muhammad lived, did he exist, how he defined a believer, etc. I think these points don't matter much. How Quran defines who a believer is does not matter. The cruelty that Quran bestows on non-believers is what matters. Similarly, it also does not matter whether Muhammad existed and created Islam. What matters is that the current Muslims stubbornly believe that Muhammad spoke Quran and Quran is Allah's 100% correct and ummodifiable word. What we need to convince Muslims of is that not 100% of Quran needs to be believed 100% of the times.
