Mumbai in India achieved a miracle: No adhan on loudspeakers in Mumbai

Dear Dr Pipes,

Mumbai recently showed to the world that if liberal politicians can be kept at bay, Muslims' exploitation of societal bonhomie can be controlled. I did not read it in the newspapers. I observed it personally and I was very relieved that for many successive nights my early morning sleep and work were not interrupted by the sounds of morning adhans. Local people and checking the past news confirmed my observations. Mumbai police reports that since May 2022, 70% of the mosque loudspeakers have gone silent in Mumbai (Ref1).

The best part of this development is that here the rule of law won over unlawful activities. It was discovered that a large number of loudspeakers were in violation of the already-existing local statutes. No new laws had to be made. Violations of these laws by other religious groups were also disallowed.

In some cases, Muslims also benefitted from these new happenings. It was discovered that in a Muslim neighborhood, two rival Muslim groups were competing against each other decibel for decibel. Shutting both of them brought relief to all people including Muslims.

This development in Mumbai should serve as a lesson to the cities in Europe where Muslim-only ghettos and no-go zones are becoming a problem for the police. Police should first curb the local politicians who support the illegal activities to appear "progressive". Then, they should break the violations of the law wherever they occur.
