A failed academic? I don't think so.

I was fortunate to hear Dr. Pipes speak several months ago on the University of Washington campus here in Seattle. I was thoroughly impressed with Dr. Pipes' presentation and with the way he answered the questions that followed. I am very grateful to the friend who told me about the lecture, since I had not heard of Daniel Pipes before that. I have continued to follow his web site since that time. Dr. Pipes is a *scholar* of great stature. The vast knowledge I have seen him display, his ability to remain calm and rational while his opponents rant and rave, and his obvious dedication to truth and knowledge all leave me in awe of the man. This is someone who would never slant the truth or ignore facts that don't suit his purpose. He is clearly someone who understands that honesty, integrity and genuine scholarship are the ways in which the world will be changed.

Dr. Pipes, please continue your efforts to expose the charlatans on our campuses who care only about their own political agendas, and do not give a damn about the truth.
