fatah-hamas power sharingReader comment on item: Thoughts on Hamas' Ascendance Submitted by R.Mitelman (United States), Jan 25, 2006 at 14:58 It seems to me that after PA parlamentary elections the more sophisticated diplomatic tricks will arise. EU, State Department and even the President of the USA will try to adjust themselves to the new situation and find some kind of "silver lining" in it.The result will be that all straightforward threats of Hamas to obliterate Israel will be sunk into oblivion (Hamas leaders will not use this kind of rhetoric in PA for tactical reasons), diplomatic contacts on different levels will be resumed, money flow to PA will continue as usual. This happened after the Oslo agreement and history will repeat itself again, probably as a tragedy. Roman
