I say that is not true historically speaking..orelse what about the cgristians that were masacered by the Surbs!! you need to have a multidomentional eye. Russians supported the Serbs because there was a vested interest in former Yugoslavia.

I say that the berbers of eastern Algerian Rif were persecuted by the Ottomans...they were Muslims..Also The Turkish Ottoman persecuted the Shiites and the Alawites..they are also Muslims..so do you see how your argument has a hole and does not hold water!!

Nowadays Egyptian American friend government marginalizes the role of the coptic culture..yet this government is secular and American friendly....Moroccan Jews are better treated in Morocco than in Israel..so where does religion come to play?
