Absolutely the best statement so far in this terrorist war!Reader comment on item: A New Round of Anger and Humiliation: Islam after 9/11 Submitted by Mildred Mallek (United States), Jun 9, 2002 at 16:14 This is by far the most definitive essay on the sequence of this war! Itcovered everything connected with the events of the last 20 years and can be used as a textbook. You summed up everything we have been experiencing since 1979, along with our reactions to it, and how our handling of all events up until now only made militant Islam more confident. They even used the Gulf War as an illustration of our weakness, because in order to be politically correct, our country did not go all the way to Bagdad, since we remembered the Vietnam War. The Vietnam War also demonstrated to Islam that we were weak. The problem with those two wars was that we were trying to help other nations stay free. They got it wrong, however, because once the conflict moved to our shores, our resolve was set, we proved that we are still a formidable force in the world. no matter what some people in the United States think. Thank you for pulling it all together for us! Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
