One Omission

Dr. Pipes does an excellent job of trying to guage public opinion in this article, a difficult and always inexact task. However, a discussion about interactions between the West and the Middle-East, as Dr. PIpes does in the "what went wrong" and "hatred of the U.S." parts, would be incomplete without considering economics as well.
