Islamic revisionist theoriesReader comment on item: Arguing over "Jihad and the Professors" Submitted by hari iyer (United States), Feb 7, 2003 at 10:56 " The wars associated with Islamic victory and expansion were largely defensive ones in which Muslims fought non-Muslims who had oppressed Muslim minorities. ERFAN IBRAHIM San Ramon, California "I would urge Mr Ibrahim to study Indian History, specially, the muslim invasion/occupation of India. They brutalized Hindus who did not want to be converted. By the way, if Mr Ibrahim thinks I am making this up, he need not worry. The historical aspects were chronicled by Islamic "court" historians in DETAIL to showcase Islamic subjugation of Hindus, Sikhs and other non-muslimS. It was, as if, a feather in the ruler's cap. The word, "Ghazi" which was coined for many muslim rulers literally meant, "a person who killed a non-muslim" I am sick & tired of these ...arguments put forward by these revisionists. I thank my lucky stars for the British rule in India. If it were not for the British rule, the emergence of Sikh warriers like Guru Gobind Singh, India today would be a full-fledged Islamic country.
