The Hoax That Is PalestineReader comment on item: Polls, Palestinians and the Path to Peace Submitted by Barry Greenspan (United States), Feb 21, 2003 at 01:43 Two into one does not equal three. The Balfour declaration offered the Jewish people a country in what was then British mandated Palestine as a reward for support during World War I. The Arabs were also offered a nation. Israel fullfilled the need for a revived Jewish homeland. Jordan, with about 80% of Palestine became an independent Arab kingdom in March, 1946, two years and two months before Israel. The so-called Palestinians and the Jordanians are of the same stock. Had Palestine become independent from the Ottoman Turks without there ever having been a Zionist movement, does anybody actually believe that the Arabs would have drawn a line at the Jordan River and said "Those of us west of the river are Palestinians and those of us to the east are Jordanians? Of course not!The so-called Palestinians were offered an additonal 60% of the land west of the Jordan River in 1947 and it still didn't prevent the fledgling Jewish state from being attacked. Israel as we know it was not entirely a creation of the Zionist movement. It was a result of the Arab nations and the persecution that led to hundreds of thousands of Jews that once inhabited Arab lands and their settling in Israel. By the 1970s about two-thirds of the Israeli Jewish population was either born in an Arab country or were the children and grandchildren of the Jews that fled from Morocco, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Algeria, etc. The fact that the so-called Palestinians get so much attention and support is simply from the propaganda of keeping these people as permanent refugee victims, and that their victims will for the most part continue to be Jews.. We somehow fail to see the same enthusiasm for the Basques, Kurds, Tibetans, Chechens and others that are not independent. Perhaps if they were to focus on harming Jews they too would have a chance of freedom. Palestine is nothing but a fraud and a hoax.
