In response to Debra's comments.

It is unfortunate that you have lost friends as a consequence of your empathy.

I have always been aware of world wide anti-Jewish feeling. We learn in (NZ) school that the Jews had always been discriminated against. I felt for ages that the hatred stemmed as a result that the Jews often were successful especially financially. But I believed that the Second World War and the Nazis' doctrine caused the world to take stock of itself and its prejudices - realised where bigotry can lead and that Jews were by and large now accepted among the western world anyway.

But I am very wrong about that.

I guess that political correctness now forces many westerners to accept and extol the Jew. Oh Yeah.

I think those same decent people are so glad to have the Palestine situation. Now they can side with the Palestinians and give voice to their bigotry that they had to conceal for a while there.

If one looks at history then it would be impossible to empathise with the Palestinians .... That has been my confusion for years - how can reasonable educated people believe the Palestinian situation? It is the anti-Semitism taking hold again in the guise of sympathy.

Again, sorry about your friends, but they must have been educated anti Jewish or perhaps their family were antiJewish.

I am constantly surprised at how many Australian people (Australian, born and bred) are antiJewish. And that does not even come in out the form of pro Palestinian comments.
