follow up on the eventReader comment on item: Speaker Shouted Down at U.C.-Irvine Submitted by Harrak (Canada), Feb 7, 2007 at 23:39 Dr Pipes, I viewed all the event, including Q and A period. I noticed that you were kind enough to give a chance to such audience. I saw some of them yelling and moving their hands like the rap singer 50 cents. I wonder if they do not understand a word of what you said. You presented two possible solutions to the Israeli Palestinian problem and said everyone is free to choose which way one choses to see taking place. They interupted you for stating your opinion and that is totaly unacceptable. The university must set up rules of conduct indeed or else that gives you an impression of being in a bar rather than a univeristy amphitheatre. I respect your standpoint and disagree with you on the idea of Arab free Jewish state theory. Although I must admit it is practical and even logical. But however logical a peaceful ethnic cleansing can be, it will be never be legitimate in the both Jewish and Arab cases. If the west is not hypocrite, why not pushing with money and all what it takes to establish a secular Israel where Jews and Arabs are subject to secularism! Every body is equal. Not, only that, but join Gaza and W.Bank to Israel aswell. I bet all I have, if so is to be and a referendum is done in Syria, Lebanon and Egypt, most voters will vote to join Israel. So why giving up the wider guarenteed view for a peace of land that is in the process of shrining and subject to become a threatened gated state! I think that is the wrong way to go. Why is it that every Algerian would risk his life to become French citizen!
