We can agree on one point

We can agree on one point, Herr Doktor, and that is that Islamism is a threat. On all other points we disagree. Religion is to some a matter of faith, to others a matter of works or ritual, to others both. The two most violent and destructive forces in the 20th century were Communism and Fascism, both violently opposed to religion (they substituted their own New Age or State religions).

Like all violent men, you do not understand the difference between truth and fact. Science is interested in fact, religion in truth. Reason is employable in both these basic ways of understanding life. Those who insist in the primacy of one over the other are intellectual cripples.

For us to succeed against Islamism it will require all people of good will, both religious and non-religious. Your letter divides the world into the true believers and the non-true believers. You are closer in your approach to Islamists than you know. The number of people who would support your frustrations passing themselves off as ideology are infinitesimal. What a childish screed, sir. And you just had to sign off as an MD! Big Deal! The recent failed terrorists in the UK were doctors, like the heads of many terrorist organizations worldwide. I guess some days saving lives just seems a fake, doesn't it? I mean God giveth AND taketh away.
