Where Islamism comes fromReader comment on item: When Conservatives Argue about Islam Submitted by Lactantius Jr (United Kingdom), Jul 26, 2007 at 07:53 David Lincoln asks where Islamism comes from. The paradigm or exemplar for Muslims to emulate, is their prophet Muhammad and his Qur'an. Who says so? Muhammad said so:- Muhammad spoke the following words during his last sermon on 7th.March 632AD in Mecca:- "I am leaving you with the Book of Allah (the QUR'AN), and my SUNNAH (the life style and the behavioural mode of the Prophet), if you follow them you will never go astray." with the Qur'an saying this of him:- "Ye have indeed in the Apostle of Allah a beautiful pattern (of conduct) for any one whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day, and who engages much in the Praise of Allah." Surah 33:21 (Abdullah Yusuf Ali) "And verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) are on an exalted standard of character." Surah 68:4 (Hilali-Khan) And what was "the lifestyle and behavioural mode" of the prophet of Islam? what did he say and do? what does the Qur'an prescribe? "I have been made victorious with terror" (Sahi Bukhari V4B52N220) "Killing unbelievers is a small matter to us" ( al-Tabari IX:69) "Paradise lies under the shade of swords" (Sahi Bukhari V4B5N73) "I shall terrorise the infidels. So wound their bodies and incapacitate them, because they oppose Allah and his apostle." (Qur'an 8:12) "The believers fight in Allah's cause, they slay and are slain, kill and are killed" (Qur'an 9:111) "Muhammad said, ‘You are commanded to carry out jihad against the unbelieving infidels until they submit to Islam' " (Qur'an 47:4) "But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful." (Qur'an 9:5) Violence was foundational to Islam, and remains deeply embedded in it, with Muhammad being the archetypal Islamic terrorist, and somebody has said so well, that the nearer you get to Muhammad and his Islam, the more violent and warlike you become, whilst the further away from Muhammad and his Islam you are, the less violent and peaceful you become. 'Silas' has written so well about this, under the heading "Islam's Royal Family," examining the behaviour and actions of those closest to Muhammad, that is, his immediate family and companions, asserting that if anyone was living as an exemplary Muslim, it would be those closest to Muhammad. Silas' examination of their "fruit," is posted at:- http://www.answering-islam.org/Silas/rf7_fruit_judged.htm with 'Silas' concluding remarks being:- DISCUSSION We should have seen some type of brotherhood and fellowship among this "Royal Family." Instead we've only seen war, hatred, envy, lies and deceit, bitterness, and massive bloodshed in the lust for power. I am not objecting to strong disagreement. I am objecting to the wholesale slaughter, the cruel brutalities, the bitter oppression these early Companion visited upon other Muslims. There is little spiritual fruit worth noting. Instead of spiritually building these people up, Islam poisoned them. Little by little, the Islamic poison worked in the spiritual bloodstream of these Muslims and corrupted them. Many would have been better off in the paganism of their forefathers. THE FRUIT OF ISLAM TODAY Stop for a minute and examine the Islamic world today. What do you see? Just like the early Muslims, the more Islamic a nation is, the more oppression, violence, and brutality is levied by one Muslim against another, and against non-Muslims. Let's do a review. I am writing most of these details as general summaries. The reader is encouraged to dig deeper and see just how brutally these Muslims treat each other and how they interact with non-Muslims. Lactantius Jr. now asks that we compare and contrast this with following the Lord Jesus Christ, because the nearer you are to Him, the more peaceful and peaceloving you are, whilst the farther away from Him you are, the less peaceful and peaceloving you are. At the time of 9/11, Mr John Ashworth, the then US Attorney General, showed he understood much more about Isam than President Bush, by saying:- "The vast difference between Christianity and Islam, is that the God of the Bible sent His Son to die for us, whilst Allah requires our sons to die for him." What a telling comparison/contrast Lactantius Jr. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
