It is interesting because neither Christianity nor Judaism, nor any religion founded in India or China, which are indeed older than Judaism and thus Christianity, are "modern religions."

Modern may be considered anything that at least came after Christianity like Islam-Chronologically speaking.

Therefore the obvious Oxymoron was set by you in this statement.

All religions currently in practice are modern religions, whether they started a long time ago or not, they have all evolved - gods added, trains of thought expanded, leaders come and gone, etc. It is not for us to define what is or has become modern: past and current times do. *Perhaps, I should clarify what I meant to express: that I disagree with the modern teachings of most religions, and I also disagree with the practicioners themselves.

Islam very well may be disguised as a religion for many, but for at least some others (especially, those more westernized practicers), it is a religion.

I don't feel that my statement needs to be any more psycho-analyzed than you've already done. It was just a statement.

Bottom line, none of our ideas of peace are going to work... certainly, not those which involve human politics.

If you aberrate us with the parameter/ statement that islam is the oldest religion b.c it is what muslims believe that we were all Muslims atethe beginning today some still are and the rest are revert/convert, you will again aberrate us, b/c this is the most absurd, aberrant hypothesis any human being has any displayed in history- Not even Nazis were so stupid/liars in regards to the Chronology of the civilization- thus we have two alternatives:

Or the one that stated such a "thing" is not human, or carries severe mental disability, or yet he/she is a tremendous swindler and a liar, whoever is this one (man or woman).

Personally:

To end it, I believe in all religions but Islam , under the hypothesis/ never synthesis (axiom) that Islam is a religion.

I believe in all religions and it means (100 %), yet Islam is NOT included,

b/c I do not believe that Islam is a religion.

My one and most important statement that I would wish for any man or woman to consider is this:

Who was/is Jesus?

Because if the Bible is accurate history, Jesus doesn't leave us much room to decide who he was/is.

He was either a crazy lunatic, a truly gifted liar, or the Lord of the Universe.

Read the first 4 books of the New Testament (or 2nd Testament, more appropriately called) and decide for yourself.

Because all religions - in my humble opinion - fall far far short of what God has in store for all: true peace, true submission, true love, and the fullness of Truth found in Jesus.

I am 25, I have studied all of the major world religions, and thus far - until someone can give me a better alternative, I find myself trusting the teachings, the life, and the death of a man named Jesus, who walked the earth 2000 years ago.

Anything else is just religion, no matter what it's called, and anything else falls short.

All that I need, and all that I was born for was to know God, to fear God, to be loved by God, and to love Him back. There is no greater story which exemplifies this than the life of Jesus.

And for the rest, I just really don't care about theology or philosophy or politics anymore... I mean, I think I should do my best with them and with my limited understanding of everything, but I'm telling you... either Jesus (NOT most examples of modern Christianity, btw) is the Answer, or there is none.

That is, thus far, my most honest and humble conclusion.

Because I'm not interesting in having any conversation if it's going to ultimately lean on your or my understanding... I want to look at history, I want to observe the human condition of my and your heart as a whole and try and find the best answer/solution to our very evident problem. Because anything that you or I say can be debated, and we can type mind games back and forth, but when I read about Jesus, I learn to shut up. And I learn that I'm loved far beyond my tiny brain's ability to wrap around any concept of God.
