No, I'm correct.Reader comment on item: [The American Muslim Council:] 'Mainstream' Muslims? Submitted by Weston (United States), Mar 16, 2007 at 15:24 I am sure that you have been taught and would like to believe that Allah is the same God of the Jews and Christians, but this is a cleverly contrived lie or idiotic mistake of Muslim clerics/scholars. The reason for this is uncertain; perhaps to lend weight to the attempted conversion of Christians and Jews who dwelt in the middle-east during Muhammad's time. Maybe to justify the seizure of Jewish and Christian temples which were subsequently re-consecrated in Allah's name. But Allah is not the Hebrew god but in fact the supreme deity of the ancient Arabic pantheon. Thus not the God of the Judeo-Christian faith. The god Suen was a principle deity of ancient Arabs, Sabeans and Bedouins as well as Sumerians Babylonians and Akkadians. He was the moon-god. His idols were at Kebah (a shrine) in Mecca, and he was chief amongst no fewer than three-hundred-sixty (360) lesser deities. His title was Al-ilah later shortened to Allah. His symbol was the crescent moon. Furthermore, ancient pagan Arabs loyal to Suen, also known as Hubal in some tribes, prayed towards Mecca several times daily and adorned their banners, weapons and places of worship with the Suen's crescent moon, had pilgrimages to Mecca, ran around the Kebah seven times, then went on to throw stones at the devil at Wadi Mani. All practices still carried out to this day by Islamic nations and peoples. Furthermore, Ramadan begins and ends with the crescent moon. Muhammad or Ahmed, was born into the tribe of Quaraysh in approximately 570 A.D. Considering that Ahmed's father was named Abd-Allah (Abdullah) and his uncle Obied-Allah (Obiedallah), it can be assumed that the Quaraysh tribe venerated Allah prior to Muhammad's birth. This would further explain why Muhammad never described in detail who Allah was in the Qur'an, because the Arabs knew Allah as the moon-god. This also explains why the original first Muslim creed states that "Allah is the greatest" not "Allah is great" as it is in present time. From this it can can inferred that Muhammad was stating that Allah was greater than all the other deities in the Arabic pantheon, and that Allah alone should be worshipped. Thus the Judeo-Christian God, having never been associated with moon worship is not the moon-god (Allah) of the Arabic people. So it is in fact you who needs to brush up on your history (and Islam), not I. As far as your statement about Muslim men being only allowed to have sex with their wives you are correct, especially in your use of the plural: wives. Sura 4:3 forbids muslim men from taking no more than four wives, yet historical evidence indicates that Muhammad had no fewer than sixteen wives and close to six concubines. I guess it was okay for him to break his own rules. Furthermore, one wife Aesha was still playing with dolls when Muhammad cosumated their marriage according to the Hadith. And in Sura 33:36-38 Muhammad ordered his adopted son to divorce his wife so that Muhammad could have her as his own. This was ordained by a convenient revelation he received from his moon-god. So don't talk to me about lack of morals, not when your prophet was a wife-stealer, polygamist and worse yet; a child molester. I will still stand by my "theory" that sexual repression is causing a great deal of trouble amongst young hormonal muslim males. But in fact it is not my theory, but that of many scholars, read up on it, and educate yourself. As far as the Canaanites owning Israel, last time I checked, the descendants of that tribe have a country, it's called Lebanon. And they were driven out before the Israelites by decree of God. It's seems plain to me that Arab/Persian nations just don't want the Jews to have a homeland and will use any means to deny them one. And when Israel replies to attacks against it's people, the entire Arab world cries over it. So leave them alone, quit sending suicide bombers to kill civilians, quit declaring intifadas and quit denying the Holocaust. Then maybe a true state for Palestinians can be achieved, unless they do something stupid like elect terrorists to government offices. Ooops, they did. Then they had the audacity to be upset that funding for their nation was cut. Do you really think that Israel, who is one of the largest financial contributors to the Palestinian government, should continue to support it when that very same government denies the right of Israel to exist and calls for their destruction? As far as complaints about Israel being overly aggressive, who can blame them, they were immediately attacked after their inception in 1948. This just a few years after a German madman tried to systematically wipe them off the face of the earth. The truth is that no matter what Israel does to appease it's aggressive anti-semitic neighbors, it will never be enough. The Arab/Persian nations will only be satisfied when Israel is gone, along with every Jew in the middle-east. The Middle-East is approximately 3,558,000 square miles In size, Israel comprises 8,367 square miles, making it about a 425th of the entire middle-east. so I guess the muslims possessing the other 3,549,633 square miles isn't enough for them. So I am proud that my country, the United States supports Israel. For I believe in "Never Again, Always and Forever." I have taught you enough today. Sincerely, Weston P.S. Don't bother writing to me about the pagan practices (Christmas trees, easter Bunnies, etc.) being used in the Christian faith I am well aware of them. But these have been reduced to commercial aspects of the holidays and are not tenets of the faith.
