Suddenly (active) Muslim SyndromeReader comment on item: Sudden Jihad Syndrome – It's Now Official Submitted by Humanist (Germany), Feb 5, 2008 at 04:48 It is very concerning to observe many "moderate" muslims becoming sudden devouts ready to pay any price to defend (largely impress) their religon. Personally seen, there are no moderate muslims. Just people born into the religon, leading non-islamic lifestyles (alcohol, premarital sex, praying hardly 5 times a month, forget fasting in Ramadan, being materialistic, etc). Rather its a sudden state of depression or case of brainwashing that they try to wash away all their guilty conscience and turn to religon. Suddenly finding all the right answers to their problems in age old unreformed scriptures. Those with huge emotional baggage easily buy into jihad as a easy way out of their deplorable past into a passage to heaven. The lesser depressed lot simply support all the nonsense that goes around in the name of Islam. Sudden jihad syndrome is not just in the people ready to fight or blow up themselves in a crowd of ininocent by-standers, but also largely in the silent moderate majority that suddenly support jihad out of a sort of blind allegience to the religon Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
