Unfortunately Muslim (or christian, or jew or hindu or whatever)Reader comment on item: Sudden Jihad Syndrome – It's Now Official Submitted by Humanist (Germany), Feb 11, 2008 at 06:32 If it was simply about being a muslim or not... world would be a happy place. "Moderate" non-violent Muslims are the silent majority (80-90 %) of the population. I know a lot of them, and they lead normal lives like any other human. Its just that "normal" lives dont comply with strict Islamic rules (pray five times a day, headscarf for the women, fast in ramadan, follow sharia for all walks of life, etc etc). Every now and then these people falter religiously and as repentence agree upon many atrocities committed in the name of their religon. its like how rich white people wash away their guilts by donating $10 a month for feeding hungry kids in africa. Personal religious shortcomings of these millions of "moderate" muslims is used for religious emotional blackmailing by the extreme Islamist minority. Not every muslim is a terrorist... but every muslim needs to make a stand against the few who are. And thats whats not happening. But we see the same muslims create a ruckus otherwise when inspired by local mullahs protesting against the evil plans of the west to denigrate the religon. And then again its economy stupid!!! someone needs to fund the terrorists. Be it the rich wahabis (knowingly) in Saudi or the moderate millions (unknowingly) elsewhere.
