Who You Gonna Believe, Me Or Your Lyin' EyesReader comment on item: "America's Chickens are Coming Home to Roost" Submitted by Sofa Sogood (United States), Mar 17, 2008 at 16:34 It's not only unbelievable that Obama was not aware of his pastor's views, it's unbelievable that he doesn't agree with his pastor's very political views. It seems in Rev. Wright, Jr.'s Church, politics is much more on the agenda than religion. Obama has listened to him for 20 years and given $20,000 a year for many years. Which money, let us not forget, helped to pay for his pastor's visit, along with hate-monger Farrakhan, to Omar Khaddafi, the supporter of Terrorism and avowed enemy (at that time) of the U.S. On September 16, 2001 had I heard anyone saying words to the effect that America got what it deserved, I was so dazed and wounded anyway, I would have been shocked, hurt and infuriated -- and at the least -- walked out. How and what did Mr. Obama feel when he heard those words -- and on that day? Anything? Didn't he have the courage to say anything and at least walk out on his "Old Uncle" when he became so obscenely offensive? Not very presidential. He says he never heard those words. I don't believe for a minute that those impassioned speeches by that pastor with his "God Damn America" and "American's got what they deserved" were the kind of speeches reserved for just the few occasions when they happened to have been taped. Please. Obviously, that type of hateful Anti-American speech was usual fare. And the other thing Obama and some of his representatives say is that that kind of speech is just normal for African-American Churches. Is that so? I don't believe it for a minute. As Mark Steyn observes, Who you gonna believe, me or your lyin' eyes? There's nothing normal about it at all. Here's Mark Steyn's take on this http://www.ocregister.com/opinion/america-obama-wright-1998925-rev-bless What -- Obama went there just to hear his preacher speak about Jesus and helping the poor (in between the political harrangues), as he says? No way. He could have gone to any one of the hundreds of South Chicago churches to hear about religion and helping the poor. Who continues to go to such a politically dominated church when they disagree with the majority of what's said? People go to church for the opposite reason -- for inspiration and support for what they already believe. Old Uncle indeed! He brought his young children there to be indoctrinated into and inspired about a very political viewpoint -- If he wanted Christian religious inspiration he would have gone to another church. This Church supports Farrakhan and Khaddafi. His preacher gave a special award to Farrakhan. It's just too late for Obama to say he doesn't agree. It's been 20 years -- most of his adult life. Friend of Farrakhan -- Anti-American, Racist, Anti-Semite, Islamist, and friend of America's enemy and terror supporter -- Khaddafi. Our next President. Hmmm. This man is a total P-H-O-N-E-Y. He's totally, and unabashedly misrepresenting himself. And he expects to be believed -- the horror is, he probably will be. This is so very, very dangerous to the future of our country. He is beholden to George Soros of Move-On.org -- who has stated on many occasions that he wants to see an America that is no longer dominant -- that is subservient to the wishes of all other nations -- politically, militarily and economically. He wants to see the rise of the EU, the Islamic Nations, and China -- for starters. A weak America. That's a day for the whole world to dread. This is not just a man who has opinions and works to try to see them manifest. This is a very rich man who believes he is entitled to have a great influence on the world -- to have it as he wants it. He has in the past, on his own, had a great and often negative influence on economic markets. Now he's devoting himself to see that America goes down. He's also a fierce foe of Israel -- wants concessions to Hamas, and wants to break the American-Israeli alliance, etc. To him, Israel's an irrelevant and annoying country in the way of his plans. (When confronted with Soros anti-Israel stance, Obama said he doesn't agree with Soros on this point -- does this sound familiar?) He has already interfered in Kenya on the side of his Islamist cousin Odinga, to the point that the President of Kenya requested that Obama leave the country. His "cousin's" rebellion cost hundreds of lives and inserted an Islamist agenda into Kenya's non-Islamist government. Kenya and its current government is an ally of the U.S. Obama's interference on the side of the rebels would have to be a breach of his commitment as a U.S. Senator. This man, Obama, will become the best friend of the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR -- there doesn't seem to be any doubt of it. Domestically, we will see continual appeasement and accommodation to domestic Islamist demands. What will become of our already weak counter-terrorism infrastructure? Internationally, he will concede to the wishes of ALL. He will try -- and probably succeed -- to talk his way around and through every failure -- every concession. He will simply call failures successes. And our press will support him. Here's a pre-example from Accuracy in Media http://www.aim.org/press-release/aim-says-media-cover-up-obamas-socialist-oriented-global-tax-bill/ WASHINGTON, February 13, 2008 -- Accuracy in Media editor Cliff Kincaid disclosed today that a hugely expensive bill called the Global Poverty Act, sponsored by Democratic Senator Barack Obama, was quickly passed by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday and could result in the imposition of a global tax on the United States. Kincaid said that the major media's cover-up of the bill, which makes levels of U.S. foreign aid spending subservient to the dictates of the United Nations, demonstrates the media's desire to see Senator Obama elected to the presidency. The legislation would commit the U.S. to spending 0.7 percent of gross national product on foreign aid, which amounts to a phenomenal 13-year total of $845 billion over and above what the U.S. already spends. The House version (H.R. 1302) was suddenly brought up on the House floor last September 25 and was passed by voice vote. House Republicans were caught off-guard, unaware that the pro-U.N. measure committed the U.S. to spending hundreds of billions of dollars. Kincaid's column notes that the official in charge of making nations comply with the U.N. Millennium Goals, which are prominently highlighted in the Obama bill, says a global tax will be necessary to force American taxpayers to provide the money." Pro-Israel? He will support Israel's right to defend itself? Could these just be insincere words to get the Jewish vote? Doesn't the EU and even the UN declare that Israel has the right of self-defense as they continually cry "disproportionate" whenever it does that? And even though they, in fact, support the Palestinians? Hasn't that phrase become drone-like and completely meaningless? As in the way Jimmy Carter repeatedly hawks that same phrase while demanding checkpoints and the protective Wall be taken down? Quotes from Obama: Nobody has suffered more than the Palestinian people. The creation of a wall dividing the two nations is yet another example of the neglect of this Administration in brokering peace. And he has the worst combination of foreign advisors its possible to assemble. Most are clearly now, and have a long Anti-Israel history. Of course, more denials refuting reality from Obama. Surely, if Condi doesn't beat him to it, Israel will be forced to negotiate with Hamas. Here is a quote from Obama's pastor, mentor, advisor, friend of 20 years: (The entire article is worth a read.) http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/01/barack_obama_and_israel.html The Israelis have illegally occupied Palestine territories for almost 40 years now. It took a divestment campaign to wake the business community up concerning the South Africa issue. Divestment has now hit the table again as a strategy to wake the business community up and to wake Americans up concerning the injustice and the racism under which the Palestinians have lived because of Zionism. Wright routinely compares Israel to apartheid South Africa and considers blacks The Chosen People. Wright sees his role not just as a religious counselor, but also as an educator and political activist. Here's Obama at an anti-war rally: [He said he was] opposed to the cynical attempt by Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz and other armchair, weekend warriors in the administration to shove their own ideological agendas down our throat. Interesting that there was no mention of Colin Powell, George Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Condi Rice, etc. Sounds a lot like his pastor, Rev. Wright, Jr.
