There is no moderate Islam. So there is a hope.Reader comment on item: Erdoğan: "Turkey Is Not a Country Where Moderate Islam Prevails" Submitted by HopeWhenThreIsNoModerateIslam (United States), Apr 12, 2009 at 21:33 Dear Dr. Pipes: There is a silver lining behind every cloud. You see, according to the the Prime Minister of the most liberal Islamic country (Turkey), there is no moderate Islam. It should break our heart because we are resting our hopes on Turkey to attend a liberal Islamic democratic movement. If there is no liberal modern Islam, all our women are destined to Hijab, Niqab and Burqas and all of us (men and women) are destined to be living in countries where there is no free will, no religious freedom for non-muslims, and no serious effort to advance the cause of the sciences, arts and literature inspite of tanker-loads of dollars flowing in. But then there is a hope. All humans like freedom and pursuit of knowledge. They want to live in true peace. They do not want their kids to become terrorists and suicide bombers. They do not want to entertain the hypocrisy and lies spread by Islamic apologists. Since all these things are true, there may be a silver lining: there is no hope for this kind of humans in the Islamic umma (because afterall, there is no such thing as a moderate Islam), so it is conceivable that many muslims can convert to other religions. Time to send the buddhist, christian, hindu and jewish missionaryies out. Some Muslims might be listening.
