(neo) - Nazi is NOT Extreme RightReader comment on item: The Far Right & Jihadis in Alliance Submitted by Topnife (United States), May 7, 2009 at 00:47 It is inaccurate and misleading to equate Nazism or Fascism with "Right-Wing". The full name of the Nazi party was the "National Socialist German Worker's Party". Mussolini was first a socialist, before founding the concept of "Fascism" – he was known as "Il Duce" as the leader of the Italian Socialist Party, and was also quite popular with Italy's Jewish population, until he became Hitler's pal. The concepts of racial purity, eugenics, and involuntary sterilization were actually favorites of the Progressive movement in the late nineteenth century, the predecessor of the modern "Liberal" philosophy. Hitler and Mussolini were amongst its heroes. See (and read) "Liberal Fascism" by Jonah Goldberg for the details.
