The real problemReader comment on item: Reagan's Early Victory in the War on Terror Submitted by Darwin Barrett (United States), Jun 15, 2004 at 18:52 The Islamic civilization has been increasing in size and power fairly consistantly, although with a few setbacks, since the 7th century. There have been some voluntary conversions, even of conquerors, but their convert or die policies are legendary. At some point, possibly in the late 70's, they achieved critical mass. With every passing day they become more focused and unified on their main goal, ridding the planet of the Non-Muslims. This is not a conspiracy, it is a phenomenom. Civilizations have natural life cycles. Western civilization had its "Day in the Sun". How long did Egypt last as a world leader? Greece? Rome? Byzantium?France? Spain? Germany? The Netherlands?, England? Russia? And Now the USA. According to Samuel Huntington in his book "The Clash of Civilizations...." Western Civilization peaked arround 1920. Do you think we can "Lead the World" for another 150 years with our bankrupt economy, exporting jobs, technology, and manufacturing capacity? The world economy is a house of cards and key cards are being pulled out right and left. We built China's economy with favored nation status, now we must compete with them for Gas, Oil, Steel, concrete and other materials. The evidence goes on and on, while we all focus on the little meaningless things; a bomb here, a shooting there, a kidnapping somewhere else. Does all this sound negative? Not if you're a Muslim. But that is just My opinion Darwin Barrett Chesapeake VA
