Reader comment on item: Reagan's Early Victory in the War on Terror

Submitted by Jerry Krasnow (United States), Jun 17, 2004 at 22:48

Thanks Dr. Pipes for reminding us of the Reagan legacy on terrorism. It is refreshing to see the facts recalled, both good and bad. At our weekly worship service, it is our custom after burial for a few words to be spoke about the departed. I volunteered and recalled return of the hostages. Clearly, the retreat when our marines died in Lebanon set a standard of being attacked and not fighting back that did not change until President G. W. Bush said, "No more". Reagan's strategy to destory the USSR empire succeeded without starting WWIII. These are accomplishments worthy to be remembered.
