We never learn - yes, that is the fact it seemsReader comment on item: Islam and Western Militaries Submitted by Sid (United States), Aug 23, 2009 at 21:13 I am from an Asian country and I have lived close to Muslims from my childhood days. Is America going nuts? What has gone wrong with you guys? Adopting the stupid and derogatory behavior from a local culture is not a good thing at all. If American tourists go to a country they hardly follow the local customs. Then what is wrong with the army? It is these customs that created talibans. Adopting the same would convince the fanatics that their customs is superior. Mr. Obama is a politician who can practice political correctness and can afford to search for rare species like moderate taliban. However, the army do not have those luxuries. It also makes the female officers feel like inferior to men and there may be an issue with moral of the army. You are not going to win this war in a decade if you keep going down this road.
