A distortion of my commentReader comment on item: Sheikh Obama and His Two Wars Submitted by sara (Israel), Dec 12, 2009 at 05:03 Ben, If you are corect and most Jews actually suport Israel, then we must assume that those voters were either willfully ignorant or disregarded what they knew to be the truth in favor of political ideology and a sustained all consuming Bush hatred. You did somewhat distort my commentary to turn it into a 'Jews are always victims" song. This has nothing to do with the Jewish support for BHO. As Batya notes, most of the Jews are dogmatically loyal to the democrat party, due to the aforementioned reasons (civil rights etc). I merely added that this loyalty anf strong affiliation has replaced the previous assumption of support of US Jews for Israel. I was attempting to make sense of what some of us have difficulty comprehending, that almost 80 percent of Jewish voters helped elect BHO. Not that they are to blame Ben, but that we find it puzzling that they did not see the clear indications that he would pressure Israel and appease the arabs. I was trying to explain to her that the first wrong assumption is that they identify with Israel and that their identity is actually one of a comfortably assimilated liberal democrat and that they in practice have no qualms voting against Israel's best interests. The fact (yes, fact) that this administration has so many anti-Israel nominees in it (shall I list them?) and that O himself has a clear affiliation with the Islamic world (as listed numerous times by Dr. Pipes) in his family (Kenyan and Indonesian Muslims), his ability to sing the Muslim prayers fluently (with which no doubt entertained social elites with over cocktails) his life experience (Pakistan), his political affiliations in the Chicago arena (Rashidi, Rezko, Said, Wright, etc etc) and his necessary position on the left to be pro-oppressed pals and critical of the strong and oppressive Israel; all of these facts together illustrate the expected attitude of this admin to Israel. It is unclear to me how you turned that concept into a 'Jews are the canaries in the goldmine' comment.
