U.S. Policy on Funding Palestinian Law Enforcement

As a life-long law enforcement official I find it difficult to believe that the U.S. is bankrolling 1,400 hour of training for the Paletinian Militia. Most Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) training in the U.S. doesn't include 1,400 hours of training. I do see the need to train security personnel, if they are opposed to HAMAS, but 1,400 hours? I hope this training doesn't come back to bite us. This is an alarming issue, because I see a general denegration of Israeli support from our administration--it's unfortunate because Israel has the only true democracy in the Middle East. I see an attempt by our administration to placate and win the "hearts and minds" of the Muslim citizenry--again a good thing, as long as you DO NOT COMPROMISE safety of Americans or our allies. Muslin extremists DO NOT COMPROMISE, so these feeble attempts at diplomacy are probably amusing to our enemies (extremists). Israel is also an ally and we should never forget their daily struggle to survive. They are singled out by extremists becasuse they are "Jewish" and alleged enemies of Muslims. When I was in Israel, there were a lot of Muslims there and they had thriving businesses. Most Americans have little idea of how difficult it has been for Israel to survive in the volatile Middle East. We need to stand with Israel and our other allies. It's the right thing to do--maybe not polically correct to the left, but again I assert it's the right thing to do!
