@Skeptic, you can't truly believe that there are no differentiable segments within the billion-plus Muslims worldwide. The overwhelming majority of Muslims live under despotic dictatorships that exploit their poverty, fear, and lack of education to indoctrinate them against Western values. The conflict is inherent to global Islamic leadership, whose hold on power hinges upon their ability to perpetuate a sense of war and persecution. It's NOT inherent to the Koran, any more than our love of freedeom and democracy is inherent to the Torah or Bible.

By the way, have you ever read the Torah or Bible? There are plenty of concepts in there that directly contravene democracy, equality, the pursuit of happiness, capitalism, and plenty of other Western values. And yet, we have moderate Jews and moderate Christians, just as we have extremist Jews and Christians. When people experience a taste of what democracy, capitalism, et al can do for their standard of living, they have a tendency to liberalize.
