Losing a winning warReader comment on item: On Biden in Israel Submitted by kamekish (India), Mar 11, 2010 at 04:55 Sir, We are losing a winning war across the world. Thanks to the offensive mood and clear perceptions of George Bush to fight the ugly war on Terror. However I feel he did it ruthlessly and mercilessly and that is the way, the war on terror is supposed to be fought. There can not be a friendly war on terror. Can anybody convince Osama otherwise across the table? Impossible, it is just not practical thinking or approach. The war has to be fought not only for winning but prevailing peace. That is the way, human society has been. How can you change the game of the war in this Internet world where every individual is powered even sitting in den? So Israel has to fight, Americans have to fight and Pelestenians are fighting. Peace is not an easy propsoition and peace can never be achieved by begging. It has to be achieved through hard means. Obama administartion may be wasting Americans efforts if they are trying otherwise. Israel has to suffer, Americans will have to pay the price in long run. We need a appraoch which gives clear signal of direction if we are not interested in wasting time in history. kamekish Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
