UN Era is a joke

The UN-era is a joke. If acquisition of territory by force is unlawful in this supposed UN-supervised era of international law, was not such a doctrine vitiated at the outset when one of the founding states of the UN and long its dominant member--the USSR--seized the Karelian Isthmus, Petsamo, eastern Poland, Subcarpathian Ruthenia, Bessarabia, Tuva, southern Sakhalin, and the southern Kurils as spoils of war?

While I agree that even Israel needs some "tough love" from time to time, I can't help but notice the following:
(1) The PA's actions show that they only pretend to talk with Israel to get money out of the US.
(2) Israel has to think of its own interests, just like any other state.
(3) Peace with the Arabs is indeed in Israel's best interests--but what is Israel to do when the original peacemaking Arab state--Egypt--publishes the _Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion_ and other fiercely anti-Semitic tracts at state expense?

And so, let's also tough love the Arabs: how many victims of An-Nakhbar, their children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren have gotten passport-holding, consular-protected, property rights, voting citizenship in the Arab states of first asylum? Not as many as got that out of the Great Shaitan. That's one of the asymmetries of the "peace process" that badly needs addressing.
