PA militia as threatReader comment on item: America's Shiny New Palestinian Militia Submitted by trans-parere (Canada), Mar 19, 2010 at 11:02 I think here I must disagree with Mr. Pipes. As things stand now the individual with in the "militia" have no real contact with the US (outside of AID agencies) and the propaganda issued on a daily basis is constantly anti-American, anti-western rantings. This is a very good opportunity to get individual face time with selected members who have passed some limited, yet controlled criteria and who can have that time free of the "PA teachings" to individually reassess their thinking vis a vie statehood and responsible government. Surely there must be those with in the "fighting ranks" who want more out of life than a constant repeat of the last sixty years. Surely for some, it must have sunk in by now that being a proxy for "Arab(ism)" has cost them everything and gained them nothing but vilification and shame. And... worst of all. For the PA. The constant loss of those who have striven to get an education and acquire skill sets as they migrate to more "fertile soil". The poor and ignorant maybe fine fodder for a ceaseless jihad against westernization but, insufficient alone to build a State. And lets not kid ourselves here. More so than the animosity between Judaism and Islam, Israel is a beacon of westernization and free thinking in the middle east. And a constant reminder next door what can not be under the prevailing interpretations of Islam.
