a grain of truth but only a grainReader comment on item: The Solace of Poor U.S.-Israel Relations Submitted by Abu Nudnik (Canada), Apr 13, 2010 at 11:41 It seems to me the two situations are bad and worse, not good and bad. And Obama's recent perverse announcement that he will withhold a nuclear retaliation for biological/chemical weapon attacks on the US if and only if the miscreant is a signatory of the NNPT underscores the intensity of the threat. You can bet that it's not lost on the Arab/Muslim world that Israel is not and Iran is a signatory. To produce a biological weapon with a Star of David on it must be dancing in the heads of Al Qaeda operatives tonight. And who wouldn't believe it? The media always blames Israel for false charges against her. Can Obama really be so petty and vain that his anger at Israelis building projects would lead to his renunciation of the basic sovereignty of nations to enter into treaties or stay out of them based on what they themselves believe to be in their own best interests? Obama may as well say Israel does not exist. Clouds are sometime other than dark or sliver. There are such things as war clouds too. Carter's weakness was taken advantage of in just this way. I see no reason why Obama's even greater weakness will not result in war. If I were Israel's leadership and I heard the State Department's insane comment re: different punishments for signatory and not-signatory powers, I'd be gearing up for a strike on Iran soon rather than late.
