misunderstandingReader comment on item: The Solace of Poor U.S.-Israel Relations Submitted by yuval Brandstetter MD (Israel), Apr 16, 2010 at 15:19 Trying to assess this administration's relations with Israel according to previously established rules and customs shows misunderstanding of the current state of affairs. If in the past the US relations with Israel were predicated on perceived American interests, today the basis is totally different. Obama is oblivious to true interest. obama is beholden to traditional Muslim view of Jews as either willing Dhimmis, or renegade dhimmis. The first typified by such as Axelrod and Emmanuael are to be promoted. The second, such as the "intransigent" Netanyahu leading the "war-mongering" Likkud, must be made to Submit via strong arming, humilitation, and finally direct threats of annihilation via proxy. The proxy is Iran which is allowed to reach for hegemony in the face of the bulk of US airpower being there and able to destroy its nuclear ambitions at will. Ross is somewhere in the middle, a confused Dhimmi who didnt quite figure out the paradigm shift, and got rapped on the knuckles for inadvertant remarks. Judging the present using yesterdays tools is bound to lead to mistaken conclusions. Obama, being the emissary of Islam is demanding submission, not cooperation, because cooperation is between equals, whereas obama is Superior while the Jews are Inferior, That is the new basis of relationships, like them or not.
