An honor to die?

Reader comment on item: [Michael Smerconish and I Debate:] What Kind of Airport Profiling?

Submitted by Menahem Dunsky (Canada), Oct 6, 2004 at 10:31

I believe that the paragraph, we will all see, says it all and more: [see The Sunday Times of London, Feb 8, 2004, found at http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2087-993566,00.html]

"A BRITISH-EDUCATED terrorist released in an exchange of prisoners between Israel and Hezbollah has vowed to "fulfil his mission" as a suicide bomber... Before he left Israel he [Steven Smyrek] gave an interview to Eric Friedler, a German documentary maker. 'It's an honour to die for Islam and for Allah,' he said. 'When the order comes you have to carry it out and there's no time to ask if there is a God or not, or to think what will happen after you're dead, without feeling you simply have to lay down your life as Allah decreed.'
