Profiling as Smeconish proposes is stupidReader comment on item: [Michael Smerconish and I Debate:] What Kind of Airport Profiling? Submitted by Joe (United States), Oct 19, 2005 at 17:38 Has he never heard of colored contacts, hair dye, skin lightners? Telling a bad guy what type of security protections you are using is just dumb. I was in Viet Nam and everyone was checked since anyone (children, women, even other soldiers) since anyone could be carrying explosives, sometimes unwittingly. Anyone can get a uniform and just being in the military does not make someone immune from being a terrorist. Does Timothy McVey ring a bell?Don't you think that the 9-11 terrorists would have beome blue eyed, blond beach bums if they could count on the type of security that Smerconish foolishly proposes. I know he thinks random checks are PC, but he an others need to realize that is a dumb point. Any terrorist is going to change his/her looks if it is known that only certian types are being checked. That is a fact. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
