We need to cast off Political CorrectnessReader comment on item: [Michael Smerconish and I Debate:] What Kind of Airport Profiling? Submitted by Tom Pensyl (United States), Oct 12, 2004 at 11:51 If we are ever going to make air travel really secure from Islamist terrorism the first thing we are going to have to do is purge this "politically correct" idiocy from our thinking. We all agree that not all Muslims are terrorists, but over 99% of terrorists are Muslims. Why not just ask people a series of questions designed to separate the radical Muslims from all others? Once separated, put them and their baggage through a strainer. If they get offended and show a hostile attitude about it, ban them from the flight. This would protect everyone, including the non-violent Muslims. I know this procedure would be offensive to some people, but it would make the difference between having safe air travel and more hi-jackings, bombings or 9/11's; I really don't give a damn about their feelings.
