W and the big OReader comment on item: George W. Obama Submitted by Fred Baehr (United States), Apr 1, 2011 at 03:37 I've kidded some of my unreconstructed liberal cronies about this since last year when the president's words started sounding eerily familiar. Last year the ACLU put out a four frame photo set showing Obama turning into Bush, so there we have it from commie central. The true, morally committed liberals are pretty upset with Mr. O by now as they should be. He has not ended our military incursions. He has not cancelled the Patriot Act. He has not and now admits he will not close Guantanamo. He has finally endorsed, at least partially, military tribunals for foreign combatants. Now he has us in a third war in a Muslim country. Honestly, it would seem only the most venal liberal hack could still support him after all that. But you'll still hear from the deadhead diehards that people are against him because of their racism. I swear, I was reminded of this "fact" only the other day. I did not vote for W. I did not think he was a good president. I was not against the wars in Afghanistan or Iraq. I voted for Obama. I couldn't vote for someone so seemingly inept and desperate as McCain. In fact, I have voted since 1972, and have never voted for a Republican for President. 2012 will be a first for me. I will not vote for the big O even if I have to vote for Dracula. Or Blackula. I call him the big O now because it is obvious who I mean by it, and it seems marvelously descriptive. An O is a circle. It has no identifiable points on its surface, you might say it is "smooth" and you have to admit the president is a smooth guy. It is the most circumspect of shapes, and all points on its surface are equadistant from its center, and I think this describes the president's moral compass. Finally there is the fact that an O has nothing inside it. OK, thats just mean. Big O has something inside him, its just that it has been impossible for anyone to determine what it is. With W you knew something of the man. He wasn't clever enough or dishonest in the way it takes to hide it. But big O is the master at it. So as much as O is doing W I think its a good thing. But I can't like him even so.
