Hope IS Enough When Faith is Its SourceReader comment on item: What Is Israel's Next Move In The New Middle East? Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), May 5, 2011 at 13:49 Having extracted from the Hebrew Holy Bible a Biblical understanding of what is going on in the Middle East, the sentiment, "hope is not enough," is actually somewhat understandable in the face of the circumstances confronting Israel. But approaching those circumstances without at least knowing why hope is central to such things puts all who have to endure what is happening at a disadvantage, something that is really not what the Almighty Eternal intended. Israel is, after all is said and done, the apple of the Eternal's eye. Now, recognizing how easy it is to pontificate on such things thousands of miles away in relative safety is something of which this reader is acutely aware. While there may be the criminals' activities that put civilians at risk over here, they are crimes of societal ills and not demonstrated intentions of evil desires against the ethnicity of an entire nation, yet. Be that as it may, hope is offered here as an encouragement. From a Hebrew Bible inspired evangelists' point of view, Israel is in the threshold of times that are fraught with things of such supernatural magnitude, we are elated at the things that we see that scream in a loud spiritual voice that we are all to watch Israel as the Almighty LORD fulfills His promises to the children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, evidently within the lifetime of this generation (the generation spoken of by Yeshua HaMashiach). The WORD spoken in the Brit Hadassah (Levi) provides a firsthand witness of the events that surround Israel as her Redeemer prepares the nations for judgment as revealed in Isaiah, Ezekiel, Zephaniah, Zechariah and others. But a legitimate question is raised: what IS Israel going to do in light of the threats made against her and the emptiness of the promises made by supposed friends to help. The Muslim world is on the throes of an apparent alignment to fixate on Israel's demise as a common goal, using the 'Palestinian' issue as a lightning rod to work an illegitimate scheme against Israel's sovereignty. The U. N. is being prepared to make its real intentions against Israel manifest, a situation that is going to finally show the false pretenses of the organization's inability to keep a peace, especially at Israel's expense. The world is in a delusion that it can play some kind of arbitrator to argue against the will of the Almighty LORD and get away with it. Israel will indeed find itself in a corner; the only solution does come from that hope. See Jehoshaphat, King of Israel's dependence upon the LORD when things got tough: (The Chronicles of the Kings-2Chr20:15) And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you king Jehoshaphat, Thus says the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's. With this in mind, we can look forward to Israel's redemption at the world's expense. That is what the Knesset should be consulting (the WORD of the LORD in the Hebrew Holy Bible) in the face of it all.
