Inexplicable To MeReader comment on item: Obama's Failed Middle East Speech Submitted by Fred Baehr (United States), May 21, 2011 at 12:25 Maybe I am just simple minded. My mother always thought so. But this seems to me to be some kind of endorsement of the new and improved PLO, with the special added Hamas cleansifier (cleans Jews right out) and doesn't leave a ring. What can the Israelis be saying but that the handwriting is on the wall and the United States is now with the Palestinians officially? I am struck by the sequence of events here. The PLO, the PO, and Hamas go to Egypt to meet with the Muslim Brotherhood to negotiate a new deal between them. I'm guessing but here is how I think it went: Look you guys, this is our time, the Brotherhood is going to take over Egypt within the year and Hamas is us too, so you Fatah boys better get on board because the train is leaving the station, and a new accord of some kind is reached, or at least announced. Then comes along the President of the United States, who says he endorses the concept of justice in this case to be predicated upon the 1967 borders and demands that Israel make amends. Of course this is all preparatory to the real negotiations, and that little fact is key here. We have serious negotiations coming up and the president says, hey, before we sit down to negotiate, I just want you PLO types and the whole world to know that I, the President of the United States, that is I, the most powerful individual currently on the planet Earth, endorse your key demands for land returns, and we hope that by telling the world that we may now have the pleasure of more substantive talks, since, in essence, you have already won the negotiations, because I say we are now on your side. This is change the whole world can believe in. Terrorists of the world unite! The United States could be with you. Call up the White House and ask for the TAO (Terrorist Acceptance Office) (no offence to Taoists intended) to see if you are on the list of violent jihadis who the President now endorses (it helps if you are fighting for a just cause like the destruction of Israel). Its going to be a jolly jolly time what with the United States on board, so lets get cracking and turn up the heat. I must be missing something important in all this because it is inexplicable to me.
