the status quo and why it is unsustainable

What if I was in Obama's shoes, what would the status quo be and why would it be unsustainable ? He was awarded the nobel peace prize without any factual contribution to peace. With all that trust invested in him he did not achieve peace but the US presidency. Fine for a career but what about peace ? It does put him on the same level as Arafat but is this where he wants to stop ? Such is his situation, in the words of Sir Humphrey (BBC TV series Yes Minister) activity without achievement. Now that is unsustainable. The burden of noble-prize and presidency on his shoulders and the Israel-Palestine conflict is still aflame. How can they dare to continue hostilities in the presence of the Barack Lama.

The only way out is to bring peace to Israel and Palestine, after all, if one can become president of the US everything is possible. The slogan is confidence (Hillary Clinton introducing Obama) without common sense and a peace-process rather than peace. Israel will have security without survival.

All it will take is a leader , Obama's favourite word, here and another leader there. Following their leaders people will need to return to 1967, back to a time where no man had landed on the moon, US troops were in Vietnam, TV was in black-and-white and Israel had the proper borders.

Could things get worse ? Yes. He could be declared a saint by the pope without even being a catholic or he could be declared a martyr by some imam should he fall to death from the Airforce-One gangway.
