India and Pakistan and islam

Our dear havas whose ancestors were brutalized by the invading Turkish hordes and now he is a follower of the religion of the arabs that have no like for Turkey or its past imperialism and who tells us that his little mavi marmara is the reason for the Arab spring! How pathetic

OK let me see if you read Tarek Heggy (he is an Egyptian secularist) you will have the answer.

Mr Heggy visited and spent extended period of time in India and Pakistan. He was very surprised that here we have same people but two different outcomes. India is a democracy with critical education and fast expanding economy, arts, films, music and rising of GNP that is out pacing that of its neighbor. He agreed with Salman Rushdie that Karachi is a dump when compared with the very vibrant city of Mumbai. Even Muslims in India seem to be happy being living in this great democracy and indeed India hosts and tolerates any religion or human idea known to humanity.

Now compare it with Pakistan which is a theocracy and where the country is falling apart and we have those madrassas that only teach these boys a book (the Qur'an) a book that they cannot even understand what it really says. Their cities are falling apart and their infrastructure doed not even exist. Health care is hit and miss and secular critical education does not seem to exist anymore and where non Sunnis be it Shi3a or Hindus or Sikhs or Christians are being attacked just about ever day and suicide bombings and hiding terrorists the likes of the now dead Osama ben Laden and the other terrorist Ayman el-Zawahiri

Heggy's conclusion is that it must be Islam that would explain why is Pakistan so backward
