From my experience with the Islamic religion and it is not negligible, as I have travelled through and lived in Islamic countries and know one man of the Smilie sect very well, on the whole Islam just does not fit into western culture and is best kept separate. It is no different really from any other of the mainstream religions; the problem is that it is on the whole about one thousand years behind them in its world view (or at least in the expression of its world view by many of its adherents). I live in London which sure has a vintage feel to it visually but excepting some archaic quirks, the royal family for one, it really is a modern society, where people whose lives are governed by religious principals from whatever faith are as out of place here as it is possible for them to be and those people just dont contribute to this cities advancement either religiously or secularly. That muslims attempt to prosyletise their beliefs with the intention of imposing them on an otherwise tolerant populace is unacceptable and really beggars belief.

This along with what appears to be a complete lack of any desire to integrate with the host and at the same time eagerly to accept succour, even to expect it, without having made any contribution, not even a basic regard for their new situation, no attempt to stop the 'ghettoisation' of areas they come to inhabit and a lack of understanding that crimes committed against non-muslims are still crimes all make the idea of muslims generally peaceably resettling in western communities unworkable.
