Authenticity of Paul Provided By the Holy SpiritReader comment on item: U.S.-Pakistan Relations in Decline Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), May 31, 2011 at 14:31 Before this gets to a place where the discussion becomes a diatribe (too late), let us imagine in the mindset of the human realm that the all powerful Holy Spirit of the Almighty Sovereign of the Universe would let mere humanity get away with tinkering with His WORD enough that there would be no chance that Truth is resident by that same Holy Spirit in those who declare themselves to be disciples of Yeshua HaMashiach. By that frame of reference it might be supposed that any man (except Yeshua HaMashiach) in history can manipulate the WORD of the LORD in its physical expression, the proof of which aberration would be lost come 1900 or so years later. How could we in this time even know to what extent such Truth might be under attack? But shall we not consider that such an attack on the Holy Writ to be the direct result of demonic influences? Were THAT true, then how does any part of the Gospel of Yeshua HaMashiach provide any grace of the redemption provided by His sacrifice on the cross; for if any part of scripture is made suspect, then all would be, would it not? On the contrary, we who hold to the Gospel of Yeshua HaMashiach are influenced by His Holy Spirit, the 'Paracletos,' given to us by the Father (John 14:26) to discern that which is Truth by His overshadowing and indwelling; that by such overpowering influence we are given the ability to read, listen and react to the WORD of the LORD, including those portions attributed to Saul of Tarsus by the very same power of the Holy Spirit. This is the power given to every true believer, not by Paul, but by the WORD of Yeshua HaMashiach (John 15:26; 16:13). Now what did Paul write: First Corinthians 12:3 " Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost." Shall we not observe by the Holy Spirit then, these words by Paul: 1:) "Paul, an apostle, (not from men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised Him from the dead;) 2:) And all the brethren who are with me, to the churches of Galatia: 3:) Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, 4:) Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: 5:) To Whom be glory forever and ever. Amen." By the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit we are able to discern that Paul does not speak for himself, nor seeks for himself the honor and glory that is due to Yeshua HaMashiach; but the Anointed One speaks for Himself through the words of Paul. In the other response about 'Paul the corrupter' (your words, by slim analysis the amanuensis of another assuming Paul's identity for the purposes - of what?), we see that the same perpetration of infiltrating the WORD of the LORD by insinuation is a tactic that is as old as the Gnostic attempts to avert the focus of those seeking Yeshua HaMashiach by introducing the earliest heresies, something seen by Paul while he was yet alive and to which he directed the necessary attention to the power of the Holy Spirit to seek the Truth in Yeshua HaMashiach. Now why would Paul need to do that again? He, being Jewish, was attacked by Jewish authorities for proclaiming that Yeshua HaMashiach is LORD, the Holy One of Israel. There were plenty of witnesses to the Pentecost that proclaimed Yeshua that were Jewish, and of whom we are told by Scripture could quote Yeshua verbatim because of face to face associations. But Luke was merely a scribe of the New Covenant; who were his quotes taken from? And when we attribute the acts of the Apostles to Luke again, he quoted because he was not there in person. It is Luke that gives us Paul's introduction-are we to dismiss Luke as well? Ummm, don't think so. As for the unfounded idea that Peter was not responsible for his own letters, from better scholars than most we read that the style of Greek (was Pauls'Koine, or was Peter's (?) - Paul was schooled, Peter was not - there being the grammatical difference in the way the different letters were written). Therein lays the needs for every student and disciple of the WORD of the LORD to seek the Holy Spirit in all that we would need to be true to Yeshua HaMashiach. Thus, until the Holy Spirit says to watch out for what Paul has written, WHICH HE HAS NOT, only in a humanistic frame of mind are we to dismiss the words of Paul, like so many in Islam and by others' deceptions try to do also; thereby we find that in this frame of time, anything that tries to redirect our attention from Yeshua HaMashiach and His witnesses needs even closer scrutiny, just as Paul has written by the power of the Holy Spirit.
