Q78:31-34Reader comment on item: U.S.-Pakistan Relations in Decline Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Jun 30, 2011 at 19:47 Hi Aymenn I just read your very good post in jihadwatch about Leslie Hazelton's little foray in reading the Qur'an but you know what? No one can match the ignorance of Karen Armstrong First: I do not believe any of the translations of the Qur'an and if I do not get it I supect that if you read al-tafseer/ta'weel then any thing goes and case in point no one has a clue about what the words ilaf in surat Quraish really means but this did not stop the 3ulama from telling us that they really know what this word really means then it is very obvious that no one has a clue not back then and not now. Even the likes of the clear Arabized Syriac of Hur 3Yn which many Arabs read as Hur al-3Ayn and no one has a real clue what it means But I have a few questions about Q78:31-34 if you can help 1. Did you notice that Hilali is his translation is using Muttaqun when the Qur'an says lel muttaqin and why is that? 2. The two words wa kawa3iban (i3rab) 'atraban (i3rab) and if you read Ibn kathir he deas not help that much and he tells us that they are supposed to be al-huriat of the puzzling experssion hur 3ayn and this is what the word atrab (no i3rab) really means and as for the other word kawa3ib (no i3rab) it means means fully developed breasts and as per Abn Manzur Arabic it should have been, (and I cannot find either words in Ibn Manzur) wa banat bi sady (i'm using singluar here because this how the Arabic would be) mithl sughara' al-sin or girls/women with breasts like the young ones So what is going on? Well I will check a Syriac dictionary to see if there is anything close to these words in Syriac because I believe these two words might not be Arabic words and i will also check Luxenberg So let us see that you would say
