The higher the Islamist's victory margin the betterReader comment on item: Egypt's Sham Election Submitted by Prashant (India), Dec 8, 2011 at 00:38 Dear Dr Pipes: Unlike you, I feel good about Islamists' victory in Egypt. Islamists worldwide blame everyone but themselves for the pathetic situation of Muslims around the world. For quite some time they have been blaming the "west-supported" dictators in the ME for the plight of those countries. A lot of us objective thinkers, however, know that societies that deny freedom of thought and use force as a method for propagation of ideas decline on their own accord. There is no bigger proof of this dictum than the plight of people from Londonistan (train bombing) to Pakistan (mosque bombings). The bigger victories the Islamists get, the less they will have others to blame. And, the sooner their end will come. So I am happy that both in Egypt and Tunisia, Islamists won the power because it is not the politicians but the mullahs and their followers who are truly responsible for the plight of Islamic world. I agree with you 100% on the western policy toward Islamists that you outlined. All free nations and people should preserve our economic resources for better uses than to support Islamists. In this context I will like to mention a recent set of events in India. When a liberal vote-bank politician (Kapil Sibal; names of these servants of democracy should be mentioned over and over) recently proposed censoring social media his biggest support came from the Islamist factions in India. Biggest threat to Islamists' agenda is posed by social media and so biggest opposition to social media will eventually come from Islamists. As freedom slowly finds its way, Islamists will have to face the truth. The more powerful they get, the sooner the truth will come out.
