On Fish or FoulReader comment on item: Egypt's Sham Election Submitted by Jay1 (United States), Dec 10, 2011 at 12:48 Dr Pipes has written well about the electoral shams and shames that face America, the West and Israel in many of the mideast countries .This article highlighted Egypt today, a continuation of that quandry of are we better with elections leading to Islamists or strongmen we can deal with. But theres a country that has a most unique situation that is neither fish nor foul to coin a slightly different phrase. It is Lebanon. For in Lebanon there is but a part of an elected body, that is supported and armed seemingly by Iran and Syria, and yet is the hostile "army" of the nation. Hezbollah which is part internal ly elected and part quasi foreign entity , sits in violation, with again, 30,000 missiles pointed at Israel. Yet if all hell breaks out with Israel, sweet Lebanon will no doubt again cry, Hezbollah is not our army, there just an army of ours. Not our army, just an army of ours? Pathetically, Lebanon, makes Dr Pipes well written shams and shames, at least fish or foul.
